A poster with the subject line “Prime Minister

2023-24″ is now being distributed to spread the con. After identifying the fake ad, PIB Fact Check posted on Twitter to confirm that the Indian Ministry of Education is not involved in any program offering free computers. The con artists behind this misleading plan have erroneously claimed that students from any Indian state are eligible to take advantage of this offer.

Notably, the false banner promotes a current government project and tempts people with the offer of a free laptop. People are recommended to often visit the government’s official website, as stated in the poster, and are required to provide their personal information in order to take advantage of the offer.
