The cumulative shipments by Indian exporters through Amazon’s e-commerce exports program, Amazon Global Selling, are expected to reach $8 billion in 2023, according to the company’s Shipments Digest 2023, which was released today.

Since its introduction in 2015, Amazon Global Selling has been remarkably embraced by companies of all sizes across the nation, and it now has more than 1.25 lakh (125K) exporters. Through Amazon, these exporters are displaying millions of ‘Made in India’ items to shoppers throughout the world.

The MSME sector, which considerably boosts our economy, is essential to realizing our goal of an Atma Nirbhar Bharat, according to Union Minister for MSMEs Narayan Tatu Rane. This industry promotes entrepreneurship and creates job possibilities due to its vibrant and dynamic nature.

Bhupen Wakankar, Director of Global Trade at Amazon India, claims that “Amazon Global Selling is assisting Indian businesses in selling millions of Made in India items to clients worldwide. Tens of thousands of exporters who are a part of the program are succeeding as a result of the program’s incredible momentum.

Our goal is to make running an export business easier, and we’ve shortened the average time it takes for program participants to reach the market.

Highlights from the 2023 Export Digest

The 2023 edition of Amazon’s annual Exports Digest offers insights into the magnitude and performance of exports from India made possible by the Amazon Global Selling program. This edition reflects a rising demand for Indian goods on international markets as well as the expansion of Indian exporters who are now doing business internationally. 

For MSMEs and business owners across India, Amazon Global Selling has made considerable efforts to make exporting simpler and more accessible. Currently, the program includes exporters from more than 200 locations, including tier-2 cities.

Indus Cosmeceuticals Private Limited (beauty and wellness), Aadvik Foods (consumables), Native Fab (home textiles), SG Enterprises (toys), Handicraft Home (home décor), and Laxmi Estates, among others, all became globally successful brands in 2022, demonstrating the demand for “Made in India” goods in foreign markets.

Business Head at Linen Home, Naman Jain, states, “Our choice to use Amazon Global Selling as our platform of choice and communicate directly with customers globally was a smart step. After seeing a favorable reaction from clients, we started exporting to the US through Amazon in 2017. 

We quickly expanded our product range to include duvet covers, fitted sheets, and flat sheets. Our sales on Amazon Global Selling more than quadrupled last year, and demand is now much higher.
