Maruti Suzuki India CEO Aims To Double Revenue By 2030–2031

According to Hisashi Takeuchi, the company’s managing director and CEO, Maruti Suzuki India wants to double its revenue from FY22 levels to about Rs 1.68 lakh crore by 2030–31 in accordance with the parent company’s worldwide development strategy.

Suzuki Motor Corporation hopes to reach worldwide sales of Rs 4.32 lakh crore in FY30–31, which would be precisely twice the turnover of Rs 2.16 lakh crore attained in FY21–22. He added that the business expects India to “play a very big role” in this endeavor.

Takeuchi said, “Yes, of course,” when asked if Maruti Suzuki India likewise aimed to double its revenue like iCompany Suzuki. “We would like to double our volume and double the size,” he added.

He declared, “We will invest in manufacturing facilities and human resources so that we can manage such a significant volume by 2030. So, that is our strategy.”

In 2021–2022, Maruti Suzuki India recorded net revenue of Rs 83,798 crore. Takeuchi was speaking on the sidelines of the company’s premium multi-purpose vehicle launch, the Invicto. It had  md the debut of the mass marke- automaker into the cin of vehicles costing more than Rs 20 lakh.

He added that a portion of the capital needed to double the revenue will also come from Suzuki’s projected investment of around Rs 2.8 lakh crore by FY30–31, though he did not go into detail about those plans.  Maruti Suzuki’s investment would be used to improve goods, introduce new technology, and establish new facilities, he continued.

“Right now, we have almost like a 2.2 million production capacity, together with SMG (Suzuki Motor Gujarat), and this production capacity should go beyond 4 million, for which almost 2 million additional capacity is required,” he added.

The increased expenditure would be in addition to what is needed for new technology like batteries and electric automobiles.

Takeuchi stated that work is already in full swing at the organization’s new production site in Kharkhoda, Haryana, and that “we plan to commission the first plant with an annual manufacturing capacity of 2.5 lakh units by 2025.”

More specifically, he added, “Once fully operational, the facility will have an annual capacity to manufacture 10 lakh vehicles and will be one of the world’s largest single-location manufacturing sites.”

In addition, he added, “We have received the Board’s approval to increase our production capacity to produce up to 10 lakh extra units annually in addition to Kharkhoda.”
