McKinsey & Company has prepared a rating report that assesses Tata Power Discoms based on their accounts from the past three financial years, spanning from 2019-2020 to 2022-2023.

In a recent announcement by the Ministry of Power, Tata Power’s distribution companies were ranked as the top national utilities in the 11th Annual Integrated Ratings of Power Distribution Utilities held on Thursday…

Tata Power Discoms were evaluated on various parameters including operational and financial performance, regulatory compliance, customer service, energy efficiency, and more. They serve a registered consumer base of 1.2 crore consumers across Mumbai, Delhi, and the state of Odisha, catering to a population of 6 crores.

Develop the economy

Tata Power Mumbai Distribution and TP Western Odisha Distribution have achieved impressive scores of 89.7 and 87.2 out of 100, respectively, earning them an A+ grade each. Similarly, Tata Power Delhi Distribution and TP Southern Odisha Distribution have received scores of 79.0 and 79.3, respectively, and have been awarded an A grade each.

Dr. Praveer Sinha, CEO & MD of Tata Power, expressed his gratitude for the recognition, stating, “Tata Power is committed to transforming the power distribution landscape of the country. We appreciate the Ministry of Power for acknowledging our Discoms’ achievements, and we will continue to lead the nation’s distribution reforms.”

Tata Power has recently expanded its power distribution operations in Odisha, and the recognition of Odisha Discoms reaffirms the success of the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model in the distribution space. TP Central Odisha Distribution and TP Northern Odisha Distribution (with an upgrade) have been awarded a B grade each. The ratings for the Odisha Discoms are based on their reported performance for FY22.
