According to sources within the Indian government, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has called a conference to assess the circumstances surrounding the rail catastrophe. Additionally, according to official sources, PM Modi will travel to Odisha today to visit the hospital and accident scene.
There have been fatalities as a result of the collision of three trains in the Balasore region of Odisha; as of right now, 233 fatalities have been officially reported.

The tragic catastrophe

In the wake of the incident, it is still unknown which of the trains involved in the collision had the Kavach, an Indian-developed system that helps locomotive pilots avoid Signal Passing At Danger (SPAD) and overspeeding while also supporting train operations in challenging weather, like a dense fog.
Many people now contend that Kavach might have avoided the mishap. But right now, everything appears to be up for conjecture.

Aftermath of the incident
According to officials, 1,200 rescuers worked through the night at the accident scene with 115 ambulances, 50 buses, and 45 mobile health units. In order to allow for Naveen Patnaik, the state’s chief minister, to visit the wounded passengers, Saturday was proclaimed a day of mourning in Odisha.
Villagers claimed they heard a loud noise produced by the railway carriages leaving the rails and hurried to the scene to evacuate people.
