Electric Vehicles are the future of India and they’re the best replacement (for petrol, diesel, etc ) that could ever have been made. EVs are becoming more affordable, and governments around the world are offering incentives to encourage their adoption

So, The Yogi government is trying to promote the use of Electric vehicles (EVs) and for this, they’ve set a particular target. They want to convert vehicles used in all government departments into EVs in a phased manner by 2030.

To make sure things fall in place, they’ve made a set of new rules and regulations and they’ll have to follow them to achieve this target. The government informed Uttar Pradesh Electric Vehicle Manufacturing and Mobility Policy 2022 on October 14 so that the use of electric vehicles can be encouraged.

In the order issued by Chief Secretary Durga Shankar Mishra, all the departments and institutions working under them have been instructed to convert 100 percent of vehicles into EVs by 2030 as per the EV policy.

The government also provided an exemption from taxes and registration of Electronic Vehicles (EVs) for three years of the purchase of EVs. This exemption will also be valid for five years on the purchase of EVs. Also as per the new government policy, a 15% subsidy will be given on the factory price of Electronic vehicles.

At the same time, EVs are more expensive than Petrol and Diesel vehicles, so the government has also given relaxation on the upper maximum expenditure limit on the purchase of vehicles.

The Chief Secretary has also instructed all the departments to include EVs in the advance given by the state government for vehicles to the employees working in government departments.

It’s also been said that Electric vehicles should be purchased based on the nomination without tender and the prevailing upper limit on the purchase of vehicles for official events should be relaxed. If a person buys electric vehicles made in UP, he will get a rebate of up to five years

Also, a provision has been made in the policy that EVs can be purchased from government agencies like Rajasthan Electronics Instrument Ltd. (REIL) and Energy Efficiency Services Ltd. (EESL), etc based on the nomination without tender.

The State Government’s rebate will be separate from the Central Government’s subsidy. Due to the exemption from the central and state government, the prices of two-wheelers are likely to be reduced by ₹20,000 and the cost of cars by about ₹1 lakh.

The central government will also give high discounts on Electronic Vehicles to boost sales and get more people to switch to Electronic Vehicles.

With every step taken by the government, the sales of Electronic Vehicles (EVs) are estimated to grow rapidly and this soon dominates the automobile industry.

As per the predictions made by vehicle enthusiasts two-wheelers and three-wheelers are highly like to dominate sales in this new sector.
