The extraordinary work that Pankaj has produced over the course of his lengthy career—which has lasted close to 30 years—is proof of his strategic vision, management skills, and capacity to foster corporate growth through technology.
“I look forward to working with him to build new-age products for millions of merchants and consumers,” he continued.
The fintech business said that Pankaj Goel will be in charge of BharatPe’s technology team as well as the Group of Companies’ overall technology and innovation strategy.
It is important to note that Razorpay’s Total Payment Volume (TPV) increased from $1 billion to $100 billion under Goel’s direction.
Pankaj Goel formerly held executive positions at Sun Microsystems, Trilogy, and Intuit. His National Institute of Technology, Warangal, Bachelor of Technology degree is in Electronics and Communications. At the Indian Institute of Management in Bangalore, he also earned his MBA.
When asked about his new position, the new CTO commented, “I am thrilled to be a part of BharatPe Group, as it focuses on building a portfolio of fintech products for a wider set of merchants and consumers.”
BharatPe, a fintech business, has been mired in controversy since 2022. The business has seen several C-suite executives leave. After a disagreement with the company’s co-founders and investors from Sequoia in March 2022, the former CEO, Ashneer Gandhi, was fired from his position. Following Grover’s tenure as CEO, Suhail Sameer, the company’s co-founder, left the firm within months of his appointment. After that, co-founder Bhavik Koladiya also quit his job at the business. Other departures include Chandrima Dhar, the head of institutional debt relationships, and chief revenue officer Nitish Sharma.
